How to use Enquire in real-time

  1. Enter a name, email address and question in the Enquire form and press the ‘Enquire button.’
  2. You will receive a message saying the question has been sent.
  3. You will receive another message either saying that you have been placed in a queue or that your call will be picked up by a member of staff.
  4. When the call is picked up a new browser window will open and your screen will change to a chat page.
  5. Now type your responses or further questions in the message box provided.

How to use Enquire via email

Sometimes you may prefer to receive the answer to your question by email rather than live chat, say if you are in a hurry or happy to pick up the answer to your question when you next look at your email. If so,

  1. Go to the Enquire form to enter your details.
  2. Enter a name, email address and question, and state in the question box that you wish to receive your reply by email.
  3. Click on the ‘Enquire’ button to send your details. Please wait for a reply to acknowledge your request before you log off from the session and a member of staff will email you to answer your question.

Tips on connecting to the service

  • Once you have pressed ‘Enquire’, please be patient. Staff will know if you are in a queue and will answer you as soon as they can.
  • It helps if you give as much information as possible including the level of information required (basic or advanced) and where you have already looked for the answer.

After connecting to the service

  • If you lose your connection during a session, staff will email you with your answer or ask you to reconnect to the service. You do not need to re-submit your details using the Enquire form.
  • During a live session, staff may send you web pages to look at which either answer your question directly or contain information relating to it. You will be able to see the web page sent as well as continue your dialogue with staff. When you are sent a web page in this way, it uses pop up technology. If you have pop up blocking software, the window will not open. If this happens you can still view the web page yourself by clicking on the website address provided in the reply from the member of staff.
